Hugh Laurie, the British actor best known to Americans as the brilliant-but-nutso doctor House, on the series of the same name, is also a terrific comedy actor. If you have been an PBS fan forever as I have, you know him from Black Adder, Wooster and Jeeves, and several other British series. Man is seriously funny, albeit a long-time sufferer from clinical depression.
What you might not know is that he is a stone blues fan, can play several musical instruments, and has just released his first blues album in Europe, which is current #2 on the charts in the U.K.
You can go here and have a listen to samples.
And you know what? He's not bad.
It doesn't hurt that he has Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Tom Jones and Dr. John backing him up–they could make me sound good ...
