Yeah, Edwin ordered a bunch of Cold Steel's katanas (bokken) made from the same stuff as the escrima sticks, and we cut them down to golok/machete length for training . That black plastic holds up well to repeated impact -- we haven't broken one yet.
Looks like it could pose as a sword in a classic sword form with a top-hat.
