Science Fiction

If you have a chance to see the recent full-length movie version of Futurama, the animated series now being run on Comedy Channel, Bender's Big Score, by all means, do so. It has way too much fun, but the time-travel paradox stuff is as good as any I've seen, if somewhat more tongue-in-cheek. (And tattoo on cheek, too.)

Check it out.

I second this. I bought the DVD as soon as it came out and I've watched it several times. It's terrific, and the treatment of time travel paradox is wonderful. (I'd also recommend Red Dwarf for the same reason--they treat time travel and paradox and a lot of other sci-fi tropes with far more attention to the detail, albeit for the humorous results, than a lot of allegedly serious sci-fi tv/film.)

I remember when "Timecop" came out and the movie reviewer complained that the plot was "too complicated". Dimwit.

Thanks Mark - I have to check that out. I thought there was an old episode with that name and so I hadn't rented or bought it yet --- thats what I get for trying to think again. If anyone gets a chance check out any episode with Zap Brannigan ---- episode 4 season 1 ---- Classic!!!! Billy West does the voice for Fry and Zap and others - amazing.
