Burning Bright

Apparently, a young tiger has been seen wandering around loose near Puyallup, Washington.

Story here.

Such exotic animals are illegal these days outside zoos in WA state, and the grandfather clause cuts off in 2007, so a young Bengal tiger ought not be there.

Of course, it could be a cougar going to a costume party ...

Residents are warned that if they see this critter, they should go inside and shut the windows, and if caught in the open, roll into a ball and play dead. I suppose this is good practice for when the tiger eats you and you get to be really dead ...

Back in the day, LSU's mascot, Mike the Tiger, would now and then get out of his cage and shred a few pine trees until he was collected, and there's nothing quite like listening to your radio and hearing that there's a four-hundred-pound tiger loose and best if you stay inside ...
