The left eye feeds the right side of the brain directly ... maybe this means I'll be getting more creative now the left side of my brain's getting no meaningful visual input ...

Hey, lemonade. :-)Daniel Keys Moranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12992599044462413412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-91689565375142342172008-02-27T08:50:00.000-08:002008-02-27T08:50:00.000-08:00Maybe it would work better for me if it were a nak...Maybe it would work better for me if it were a naked man.Kai Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13319136737099550784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-41637319063669918722008-02-26T16:51:00.000-08:002008-02-26T16:51:00.000-08:00I don't think the figure makes the difference. You can draw a box with two sets of squares joined by angled lines and make the same visual swap if you want.

It's also easier to look at the still image to see the shift. In both cases, the spinner's foot is pointing toes up, but in one, the toes are pointing away from the viewer, and in the other, toward you.Steve Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12079658447270792228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-70020857004071833692008-02-26T12:04:00.000-08:002008-02-26T12:04:00.000-08:00Clockwise for me, it's an effort to make her go co...Clockwise for me, it's an effort to make her go counter.

I wonder if you'd get a different distribution of responses with an abstract shape instead of a human figure, though. Seems like a person's initial response to the figure might influence how the brain is working at that moment.Tiel Aisha Ansarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03994169558252043919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-80934438992503026662008-02-26T09:53:00.000-08:002008-02-26T09:53:00.000-08:00Oh, yeah. Until you get the hang of it, shift your gaze to the shadow just below her foot, and then think of her going the other way.

The theory is that right brain thinking makes her go one way, and left brain the other; by shifting the way you think -- literally -- you can change the spin.

I dunno how valid it it, but the link to the article offers some explanation.Steve Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12079658447270792228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-44784976585906649512008-02-26T09:42:00.000-08:002008-02-26T09:42:00.000-08:00I'm having a hard time believing she'll go counter...I'm having a hard time believing she'll go counter-clockwise.

DelilahAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-15468066767174884262008-02-26T02:35:00.000-08:002008-02-26T02:35:00.000-08:00I've seen this before -- it varies clockwise/count...I've seen this before -- it varies clockwise/counter-clockwise for me -- I don't know what causes it to change direction.Daniel Keys Moranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12992599044462413412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-90015834947846461612008-02-25T18:15:00.000-08:002008-02-25T18:15:00.000-08:00I'm not sure, She starts out going clockwise for m...I'm not sure, She starts out going clockwise for me every time, but I can change that by concentrating on her.Steve Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12079658447270792228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29640480.post-8365999322030128282008-02-25T16:45:00.000-08:002008-02-25T16:45:00.000-08:00What does it signify if you can make her change di...What does it signify if you can make her change directions at will?Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10812044801600397800noreply@blogger.com
